Will the Sony Tablet PC S1 hit a homerun?
It might look like the Sony Tablet pc came in a bit late to the tablet pc race. The iPad has been dominating the market for quite a while already and the other brands launched theirs earlier this year and some will others by the beginning of this upcoming summer.
The Japanese manufacturer giant will actually be launching not just one but two tablets the Sony tablet pc S1 and the S2 this 2011 fall according to a company’s press release. After looking at the design you can tell people will either fall in love or hate them. This is due to the sleek designs they chose for them. They are both ergonomically designed for easy handling.
Both the S1 and the S2 will operate with Android’s Honeycomb 3.0 OS which is specifically designed for tablet pcs. They will be 3G and 4G capable so you can connect to the internet at fast speeds through a wireless service provider and of course through WiFi as well. You will be able to access premium services like Sony’s PlayStation network and store.
The Sony tablet pc S1 will be a 9.4 inch perfectly sized tablet. It will feature an innovative and comfortable gripping design just like a folded magazine would feel on your hands. It is expected to fulfill users that were looking for a more comfortable handling tablet.
On the other hand, the Sony tablet pc S2 will feature a one of a kind dual screen design. Two 5.5 inch displays can be used simultaneously as one large screen to surf the web and more. You can also use the screens separately like watching videos on one while inputting other commands on the other one. You could also be checking your email and using the other screen as a touch screen keyboard. This one was probably designed thinking more on the feminine market since it can be easily carried around inside of a women’s purse.
Not Many Details Yet On the Sony Tablet PC
Not many details have been released yet on the Sony tablet pc. The company barely announced the project a couple weeks ago. There is no pricing released yet neither they have stated what wireless company will be carrying it. The S1 and S2 are expected to make the VAIO brand even a stronger line of portable computers.
